ATUPELE MULUZI: A POTENTIAL LEADER

Atupele Muluzi is one such notable politician of a potential leadership who once talked senses years ago before people held 2019 tripatite elections. He is the politician, during the presidential debate on Zodiak Broadcasting Station (ZBS) for example, who shown his ability to communicate the clearity, honesty, and authenticity. This former UDF president possesses the remarkable talent of cutting through the noise and delivering thoughtful, rational arguments that resonate with the public.

Firstly, he is clear and concise messaging: This leader has a gift for distilling complex ideas into simple and understandable language. If you remember very well, Muluzi said that Chilima did not changing anything as vice president of the former political party and wondered what new developments he would bring if elected. This becomes a clear evidence where things have gone bad in  Malawi yet he (Chilima) is there as a vice. Atupele can, if chances given, convey his vision, policies, and proposals in a way that is accessible to the general public. His messages are devoid of unnecessary jargon or obfuscation, ensuring that the public can grasp the core concepts easily.

Secondly, he is honesty and transparency: This leader values honesty and transparency as fundamental principles in political discourse. He has a reputation for speaking the truth, even when it may be uncomfortable or unpopular. They are not afraid to acknowledge challenges, admit mistakes, and offer candid assessments of the situation at hand. In one of his interviews with renowned talkshow journalist Brian Banda of Times, he quickly accepted falls as a leader of the party. This simply cultivates trust and credibility among the public.

He is also rational and fact-based arguments: This leader relies on evidence, data, and expert opinions to support their arguments. He prioritizes rationality over sensationalism and make informed decisions based on a thorough understanding of the issues at hand. Imagine, Atupele as a leader made it clear that "A Chakwera sadakhalepo nduna ndeno sakuziwa kuti kayendetsedwe ka dziko..." The base line of his argument is rational and fact based one. Atupele engages us in critical thinking and present logical arguments that are grounded in facts rather than personal biases or political expediency. During the debate, he added that Chakwera in his MCP manifesto is promising "everything under the sun", a statement you can prove him right.

The other potential leadership skills for Atupele is empathy and compassion: While articulating their ideas, this leader demonstrates a deep sense of empathy and compassion. He genuinely understand and connect with the concerns, fears, and aspirations of the people they serve. His speeches and discussions often reflect a genuine care for the well-being of their constituents, fostering a sense of unity and shared purpose. Atupele has a good track record that he worked with Joyce Banda of PP party and DPP under APM as he was a UDF president.

Respectful and constructive dialogue is another record qualifying him to be a leader: This leader recognizes the importance of respectful and constructive dialogue, even when engaging with political opponents or those with differing views. Atupele has never attacked his fellow political opponents like other politicians would do. This fosters an environment that encourages meaningful conversations, where ideas can be exchanged and debated without resorting to personal attacks or divisive rhetoric. His ability to listen and engage in productive discussions promotes collaboration and consensus-building.

Last but one, he is consistent and accountable: This leader consistently upholds their principles and remains steadfast in their commitments. He holds himself accountable for his actions and decisions. He served DPP government as Ministry of Health and Joyce Banda's as Tourism Minister. In all of these portfolio posts he came out clear. His consistent behavior builds trust and credibility among the public, who view them as reliable and dependable.

Finally, he is an inspiration and motivation politician: Atupele is only leader who saw a need to give out free laptops to public university students. It is true that a computer gadget remains a challenging tool among students in the universities. This is a workable initiatives that government can do easily. Atupele's speeches are not only informative but also uplifting, instilling hope and a sense of possibility in the hearts of the people. He has also possess the charisma and oratory skills to captivate audiences, galvanize support, and rally people around a shared vision.

In my own view, I now, conclude that Atupele can make a good leadership only if he engages right stakeholders if gets elected into presidency. His exceptional ability to talk sense in politics is characterized by their clarity, honesty, rationality, empathy, respect, consistency, and inspiration. His communication style is genuine: as it fosters trust, engages the public, and promotes a more thoughtful and constructive political discourse. Malawi requires a leader who is practical and saying things with conviction; otherwise, these other leaders are mere statue.
